A British games developer has appointed its new marketing director from Google
Frontier Developments plc, an independent creator of video games, has announced today (September 4) its non-board appointment of Stewart Stanbury from Google.
Stanbury will be the company’s new and immediate director of marketing, bringing his experience in brand, strategy and digital marketing with Google’s huge clients including Ubisoft and EA, where he worked as its games industry manager.
David Walsh, chief operations officer at Frontier, commented: “Stewart’s global expertise with digital marketing and branding, his passion and ambition for the video game industry, technology biased skillset and experience with the wider entertainment industry makes him an ideal fit for Frontier.
“We are delighted to have him join our senior leadership team to help further develop our publishing capability, as we scale to achieve our long-term ambition of becoming a global leader in entertainment.”
Before Google, Stanbury worked at both WPP and InterPublic Group. He ran worldwide B2B and B2C campaigns for the technology industry which included product lines from the likes of Nokia and Fujitsu Siemens.
He also acted as a digital insights specialist for Nokia Helsinki’s retail team in online marketing and POS strategy.
His skills should further strengthen Frontier’s marketing team as the company increases its frequency of franchise releases.
Frontier uses its proprietary ‘COBRA’ game development technology to create innovative games. They currently focus on videogame consoles and personal computers.
