Charities qualification success for York accountant
A York accountant who specialises in advising charities and not-for-profit organisations has gained a key professional qualification.
Charity and not-for-profit manager at accountants and business advisers, JWPCreers, Veronica Ridsdale, (pictured) has gained the Diploma in Charity Accounting from The Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW) after demonstrating expert knowledge of charity accounting and financial management.
Veronica Ridsdale, of JWPCreers’ Charities Department, supports charities serving York and North Yorkshire, ranging from start-ups to long-established national bodies with an income of £4.5m or net assets of up to £33m, and advises them on issues including financial management, preparing annual accounts, VAT returns, management accounts and governance.
Veronica Ridsdale, who joined JWPCreers as a trainee in 1995 and has specialised in supporting charities since new regulations on the preparation of their accounts were introduced in 1998, qualified as an accounted in 2002.
She says: “I am very passionate about working with the charity sector, which plays such as important role in our local and national life, and it is a real privilege to receive this recognition.”
JWPCreers, which has offices in York and Selby is among York and North Yorkshire’s largest firms of accountants, taxation professionals and business advisers with six partners and more than 60 staff.
