London's first ever price comparison service for professional cleaning gets a helping hand with Crowdcube
Service Octopus, the UK’s first price comparison and booking service for professional cleaning, has launched an equity crowdfunding round on Crowdcube to fast-track ambitious growth plans.
The business enables consumers to source quotes and reviews from a range of companies and then book ones they want almost instantly. In doing so, they can potentially save time and money from finding the best offer without extensive online browsing or ringing multiple providers.
Co-founders Roberto Garritano, CEO, and Filip Mijatov, operations director, have more than six years of experience running their own professional cleaning businesses in London before they spotted the opportunity for Service Octopus earlier this year.
Garritano commented: “Technology has helped to transform so many industries, and that’s what we’re bringing to the multi-billion pound UK domestic services market.
“Today’s consumer expects to be able to book online wherever and whenever they wish and Service Octopus is a hassle-free way for them to do just that. We’re really excited about the opportunities ahead.”
Companies that partner with this marketplace can benefit from the team’s online marketing expertise, giving them access to a wider, varied audience.
Service Octopus is now working with more than a dozen cleaning partners in Greater London, which has generated over £50k in sales since April 2017.
The team is hoping to increase its success through crowdfunding an initial £125k in exchange for 10 per cent equity. More than a third of such total has now been pledged due to strong early interest in the campaign.
The additional investment will be used to fund the company’s expansion across the UK and to broaden its offer into areas like house removals and handyman services.
