New jobs for Bracknell and Farnborough as cleaning franchise is taken over

An experienced facilities management professional has taken over the ownership of a domestic cleaning business operating in Bracknell and Farnborough and has already employed five local cleaning operatives.

Martin Candy (37), spent the last 14 years in a number of facilities management roles in the leisure and healthcare sectors before choosing to invest in the already established Merry Maids franchise. The business, which serves customers across Bracknell and Farnborough from its base on Birch Hill Bracknell, provides a variety of bespoke, domestic cleaning services to its customers, including regular and one-off, deep cleans.

Mr Candy aims to develop the double the size of the business in his first 18 months of ownership, taking on new staff on a monthly basis and has already invested over £5,000 in new staff, training and infrastructure changes.

Martin said: “I was intrigued by the Merry Maids franchise proposition initially and the more I learnt of the ethos behind the company, the fair treatment and employment of staff and the high standards of the brand, I knew it was the right fit for me.

“My aim is to grow this business, whilst ensuring that we retain the high standards of cleaning our customers expect from Merry Maids. I am delighted to have recruited and trained five new maids already and I hope that my partner will join me in running the business in the not too distant future as she will bring with her a wealth of business financial management experience.”

Merry Maids is a franchise of ServiceMaster Ltd, which has been operating in the UK for over 55 years. With nearly 70 local Merry Maids businesses in the UK, it is one of the leading domestic cleaning brands in the industry.
