Inspirational speakers secured for major business event in Warwickshire

Business leaders across Coventry and Warwickshire are set to be treated to insights into the worlds of commerce, music, education, charity and government by two inspirational speakers.

Margaret Casely-Hayford, who became the first female Chancellor of Coventry University in May, is speaking at the Chamber’s Business is Good for Women seminar which forms part of its Business & Trade Expo at Stoneleigh Park on Friday, September 15.

As well as her now role at Coventry University, Margaret also continues in a range of positions including being a trustee and chair of the international development charity ActionAid UK and is on the board of the Co-op as a member nomination non-executive.

She is a trustee of the Radcliffe Trust, one of Britain’s oldest charities supporting the development of skills in classical music and traditional arts and crafts, and is joint manager of rap artist and digital media entrepreneur Kelvyn Colt.

Margaret’s career has seen her work for 30 years as a lawyer, 20 of which were with City law firm Dentons where she had been a partner and jointly led an award-winning team in planning and development work on everything from Kings Cross to Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge.

She later moved to John Lewis Partnership where she remained for nine years until July 2014 and has also held a government appointed non-executive director position with NHS England.

Michelle Mills-Porter, a speaker, author and people profiler dedicated to unleashing people’s potential, will also be speaking at the seminar.

She is the CEO of Ensize UK, the MD of Ethos Development and founder of Phone Genius – The Art of Non-Visual Communication – and speaks regularly on how to get the best out of a workforce by understanding human behaviour and values.

Louise Bennett, chief executive of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Our Business & Trade Expo at Stoneleigh Park promises to be a great event – an opportunity for companies to come together, network and hopefully do business.

“As well as the main expo, we also hold seminars which are designed to be both informative and inspirational and the Business is Good for Women session with Margaret Casely-Hayford and Michelle Mills-Porter is going to be fantastic.”

The expo, which is sponsored by WarwickNet, opens at 10am for visitors. For more information, log onto http://www.cwexpo.co.uk/
