Northumbrian Water Prepares For The Future With New Apprentices

Four new Apprentice Project Technicians have joined Northumbrian Water’s expanding Seaham-based team.

The company moved into its new offices at the Spectrum Business Park in the summer, creating a new home for its Asset Management team.

The new Apprentices will earn as they learn, mixing the on-the-job experience and education with studying through New College Durham towards BTEC Level 3 and HNC qualifications in mechanical, electrical and civil engineering.

Aimee Hall, from Tantobie, Emma Preston, from Tynemouth, Jordan Evans, from Redcar, and Matthew Ferguson, from Sedgefield, joined the team at the end of August. They are working with Northumbrian Water’s asset delivery department, which manages investment projects across the North East.

Linzie Pentleton, Asset Investment Project Manager at Northumbrian Water said: “These four young people have joined our team at an exciting time of growth in new premises. They’ll be involved in projects to upgrade or replace parts of our network so that they continue to run efficiently and deliver great services to our customers.

“Earning while they learn, Aimee, Emma, Jordan and Matthew are now setting out on exciting careers with great opportunities to work towards project engineering and management roles within Northumbrian Water.

“Earlier this year, Northumbrian Water helped to launch the Energy & Utilities Skills Partnership, which aims to promote careers in the sector and fill 221,000 roles by 2027. Apprenticeships like these will help us work towards that ambitious, but important target.”
