Basingstoke manufacturer welcome new Non-Exec Chairman
Luxonic, a Basingstoke manufacturer that has been in business since 1986, has announced John Randle as a new Non-Executive Chairman. Randle has worked as an independent consultant to Luxonic since 2015, and joins as Chairman at a time of considerable growth for the company.
Randle has previously advised the Government on SME innovation and growth strategies within the South East region, and at one point held the position of Managing Director of Printing Systems at BASF, a German chemical company and the largest chemical producer globally.
The appointment follows a series of new hires by the award-winning LED specialist, including the recent promotion of Financial Director Tina Batsford to the executive board. Batsford’s assignment made her the first female member of the board in Luxonic’s 31-year history.
Nick Tavare, Managing Director at Luxonic, commented: “We welcome John as one of our long-time collaborators, safe in the knowledge that his experience will ensure exceptional guidance as we enter a significant growth phase. In just a few years alone, we have escalated growth significantly, achieving consistently strong profits, opening new offices in London and Glasgow and commencing a major investment to expand our manufacturing capabilities in Hampshire. John’s appointment as Chairman will no doubt help us continue this success.”
Randle, a qualified chemical engineer with over 35 years’ engineering industry experience, added: “I’ve had the pleasure of advising Luxonic for over two years now and I’m honoured to have been invited to work with Nick and the Luxonic team in a more formal capacity. From an engineering perspective, I have always been impressed by how the company has maintained a culture of innovation alongside rapid recent expansion. I’ve consistently championed British SMEs, and as one of the top UK manufacturers, I’m excited to help progress Luxonic’s growth as they venture into new partnerships with property and construction industry leaders.”
