Delifonseca serves up Royal Treatment
Delifonseca has served up a ‘royal spread’ for the Duke of Cambridge during his recent visit to Merseyside.
The event, during which the award-winning eatery catered to over 100 delegates, saw Prince William unveil the newly opened Urgent Care and Trauma Centre at Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust following a £35m redevelopment.
As part of its outside catering offering, Delifonseca was chosen to provide a banquet of savoury and sweet light bites for the Royal and a selection of VIP guests.
Proprietor of Delifonseca Candice Fonseca said: “It was of course a huge privilege to share our love for food with the Duke of Cambridge and a huge testament to Delifonseca that our catering services were hand-selected for such a prestigious event. For this visit, our talented kitchen team have worked tirelessly to devise a menu that not only highlights the very best of British, but showcases the fantastic local produce and suppliers we have right here on our doorstop.
“Since we began catering for external events, our service has proven a huge hit not just in Merseyside but across the whole of the North-West region and has seen us create unique, tailor-made menus for all occasions and tastes, and we are thrilled to add The Duke of Cambridge to our portfolio of those we have fed.”
The indulgent menu included carefully crafted recipes featuring the best of local North-West produce in mind, with menu highlights such as Cheshire Smokehouse Duck Breast with Damson Jam on Pistachio Toast, Liverpool Gin/Whiskey Cured Salmon with Beetroot & Horseradish Relish Charcoal Cracker and Somerset Brie & Apricot Chutney Cup. Delectable deserts included White Chocolate & Pecan Blondie, Triple Chocolate Brownie and Mini Lemon Meringue Pie.
In addition to its ever-growing outside catering service, Delifonseca operates two restaurants. Delifonseca Dockside is a foodie ‘all-rounder’ which has the added attraction of housing local butchers Edge & Sons while Fonseca’s Stanley Street is renowned for popular Blackboard Menus and its intimate ‘Downstairs Bar’.
Candice added: “We’ve enjoyed an incredible year here at Delifonseca, which has seen us form a number of prominent affiliations with establishments including Liverpool Philharmonic, of which we are the official external caterer, and we are pleased to announce we have recently become an approved supplier for both Liverpool Town Hall and St George’s Hall. More recently, both of our restaurants were featured in The Good Food Guide for the eighth consecutive year – there’s certainly lots to celebrate.
“Here at Delifonseca, our ethos is to ensure that each and every customer is treated like royalty whether they are hosting a wedding, a conference or simply a party or a more intimate gathering of friends and family. Our team of talented chefs create bespoke dishes which are bursting with flavour, and our personable, expert team regularly meet with clients to really understand their vision, offering exceptional customer service as well as delivering on big taste.”
