Touchdown Offices donates £3k to Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue

Touchdown Offices Limited part of the Communicate PLC group has donated vital funds to Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team. The £3k donation will help the team purchase much needed emergency equipment.

Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue team provides search, rescue and event cover across the North Yorkshire Moors and further afield. The team of volunteers face around eighty incidents a year and rely solely on donations and sponsorship to provide much-needed emergency support.

As well as being long running supporters of Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue, Touchdown Offices Ltd based in York provides essential services to the team. The organisation uses Touchdown’s Strongest Signal SIM which offers mobile communications to clients in poor signal areas. The SSS roams the available networks and locks onto the strongest signal giving users access in difficult to reach areas. The service is invaluable to Scarborough and Ryedale’s Mountain Rescue team who constantly work within poor signal areas, saving essential time and resources.

Ian Hugill, Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team’s Incident Controller and Public Relations Officer, said: “Updating equipment is a necessity for the rescue team to ensure we can cope with the vast number of incidents and Touchdown’s donation will be a huge help towards purchasing new equipment to deliver our ever-demanding workload.”

Danielle McLeod, Touchdown Offices’ Commercial Manager said: “Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team continue to provide an invaluable service to those in and around North Yorkshire. Working with the team has given us an insight into the varied tasks the team undertake. We are proud to support these highly trained volunteers who give up their personal time 365 days a year helping those in distress’’

Tony Snaith, CEO of Touchdown’s parent company, Communicate Technology PLC, said: “We are pleased to continue supporting the team for another year. Their work is invaluable for both the local community and visitors alike and we know our donation will help toward replacement and refresh of much needed kit and equipment.”

Touchdown Offices Ltd are exhibiting at the Emergency Services show and Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue team will be attending show on September 20th and 21st.
