Former Arla Foods site in Sharston set for redevelopment as investors take over
The former Arla Foods bottling plant and distribution centre in Manchester has been acquired.
The site, located on Paston Road within Sharston Industrial Estate, was purchased by Aherne Property Consultants on behalf of a private investor for an undisclosed sum.
Extending to 10 acres, the former plant has been vacant for several years.
The majority of the buildings on site are being demolished to make way for new industrial and distribution uses. One 23,000 sq ft of warehouse building will be retained.
Andrew Aherne, of Aherne Property Consultants, said: “This represents a rare land opportunity for developers and occupiers alike.
“We have already had significant interest in both the development land as well as the 23,000 sq ft warehouse with terms already agreed for part of the site.”
He added: “The remaining seven acres will be offered to the market for open storage uses and the development of industrial units from one acre.”
Aherne Property Consultants and Altus Edwin Hill will serve as joint agents on the development site and 23,000 sq ft building.
