Newcastle care company creates 30 new jobs

Newcastle-based HMS Care is hoping to fill 30 homecare roles in the city to match its recent expansion.

Launching a recruitment drive to fill positions ranging from assistants to supervisors and managers, the business cares for more than 35 people in both Newcastle and North Tyneside.

The HMS homecare team provides care to people in their own homes, supporting them to remain living as independently as possible for as long as possible and aims to offer a superior service by considering interpersonal and relationship building skills at the recruitment stage.

Sam Hackett, CEO of HMS Care, expects a high number of applicants to fill the advertised positions.

He commented: “We are searching for enthusiastic carers who can offer a personalised, considerate and professional care service for the people we care for and we welcome applications from those who are either interested in starting a caring career or are already established within the care sector.

“Many care workers in Newcastle are not paid well for the fantastic job they do, which is why we offer such a robust package for those we recruit to our HMS homecare team.

“The people we care for deserve the very best support, and we believe in rewarding our HMS homecare team as they go above and beyond to ensure the people we care for in their own homes are treated like family.”

HMS homecare supervisor Lisa Pattison said: “I am excited to see the HMS family expand and hope that those who want a rewarding career in care and want to make a positive contribution to the local community will join us.

“HMS Care is a unique care service and treats staff with respect, offering a salary above and beyond the average care worker wage.

“I have received excellent training and support, and what I love most about my job is making a difference to people’s lives, as well as having my hard work recognised. I hope like-minded people apply as HMS Care really is a fantastic place to work.”

Sam Hackett said of her growing business: “We are delighted to be able to create jobs in the North East, as we are passionate about giving back to our local area and have successfully provided care to our clients since 2015.

“This region has a thriving job market, and we are excited by the prospect of creating more employment so close to home.”
