Newcastle company one of the first to deliver new Management Apprenticeships
Newcastle based, international management and leadership training provider, Eliesha Training has announced that they have commenced delivery of the new reformed Management Apprenticeship programmes, making them one of the first suppliers in the UK to do so.
In April 2017, the Government completely overhauled the national apprenticeship system by moving from Frameworks to Standards and introducing the ‘Apprenticeship Levy’. This required UK employers with a wage bill of more than £3 million to pay 0.5% of their total payroll into a levy fund.
Employers can then claim back their levy contribution if they commit to training apprenticeships under a new set of guidelines, including the updated rules that apprentices can be new or existing employees and can be of any age. Smaller organisations that are not required to pay the levy will receive 90% of apprenticeship programme costs as a contribution from the Government.
Eliesha Training is a main provider on the Register of Apprenticeship Providers (RoATP); a database of pre-approved training providers with the experience and skills the Government requires to deliver the new reformed apprenticeship programmes to the required standards of quality, competence and compliance.
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to get the ball rolling so quickly after the changes to the apprenticeship system, and it was great to hear that we were one of the first providers to start actually delivering”, says Eliesha Director Tony Cunningham. “We’ve been an accredited centre with ILM and CMI for over 10 years and already deliver successful Diploma level programmes very similar to the new Management Apprenticeship standards.”
“Adding our status on the RoATP to our professional portfolio”, he continues, “means we can design and deliver well-structured and effective talent management and workforce development solutions for our customers.”
Julie Flanagan, Managing Director, adds: “These reforms present a unique opportunity for companies in the UK to develop and upskill their employees. We’ve blazed a pioneering trail through the learning and development industry for over 16 years, and it’s brilliant to see that nothing’s changed. Additionally, it’s reassuring that the new apprenticeship reforms now demand the same professional rigour and robust quality that has always been inherent in our services.”
