CHICKEN CHAIN EXPANSION CREATES FRANCHISEE OPPORTUNITIES
A North-West hospitality conglomerate is set to grow via Franchisee after investing in a Portuguese takeaway chain.
Piri Piri Express, a chicken based food outlet in Merseyside, is set to grow from three to first year goals of 12 outlets in the coming twelve months, thanks to an investment from The Know Collection.
Piri Piri Express has stores in Aintree, Magull and Southport and has mapped out their expansion into towns and cities across the North West and the wider UK.
Steven Hesketh, CEO of Know Collection said the investment was a ‘no brainer’.
“Convenience, speed and great taste are at the core of what every millennial wants and Piri Piri Express epitomises what is great about this type of offering,” said Steven.
Chicken with varying degrees of Portuguese spice are at the core of the affordable take away menu, as well as ribs, burgers, starters and desserts, all of which are available for delivery at each outlet too. The investment comes off the back of three successful years since Piri Piri Express was founded by Paulo Alves. Paulo said: “If you were to take the trajectory of what we’ve done in the last three years and fast-forward, that would not be misleading in terms of what we want to do in the next five years. It’s a line of good, consistent growth and we are thrilled to not only to have the investment but the guidance from Steven and his expert team to help us on the journey.”
The new food outlet chain will form part of the Know Collection, which is owned by entrepreneurs Steven and Nicola, and includes the Instagram sensation-cum-healthy restaurant, Love Thy Neighbour and the Know Hospitality Academy, which offers traineeships to those who are NEET.
Know Collection now successfully employs more than 120 people and turns over around £6m a year within 14 businesses.
“It’s a period of exponential growth for The Know Collection and Piri Piri Express were a natural choice when it came to taking burgeoning business and helping it to flourish. We have plans in place to grow Love Thy Neighbour in a similar way in the very near future but for now we look forward to seeing the Piri Piri Express outlets on the corner of high streets very soon.”
