New learning curve for Darlington thanks to education and training courses
An exciting Darlington community hub has announced partnership with the Learning Curve Group, to provide fully funded courses for young people, to help them gain the skills needed for employment.
Specialising in both education and training, The Forum Music Centre, located on Borough Road, will be the first facility in the area to offer courses by the Learning Curve Group.
The collaboration between the two companies will mean, The Forum, can now offer a wide variety of SIA accredited courses, including: SIA License (Security Industry Authority) Customer Services, Health and Social Care, Retail Operations and Business Administration, as well as, specialist courses in in Dementia Care, Mental Health Awareness, Nutrition and Health and Understanding Autism.
This fantastic partnership is just one of the ways that The Forum, ran by Humantics, a Community Interest Company, is seeking to develop its future.
Commenting on this new venture, Allison McKay, managing director of Humantics CIC, said: “It is fantastic to be part of this support pathway for people to gain new skills and experience in a variety of sectors.
“The Forum is in a great location and as a Community Interest Company, this new partnership sits perfectly within our objectives and will enhance our impact within the community.”
For over a decade, the Learning Curve Group has either directly delivered or provided services that support apprenticeships, diplomas, literacy and numeracy qualifications, vocational certificate programmes and short courses, meeting the needs of employers and individuals alike.
Engagement Support Officer, Nusrat Razzaq, from the Learning Curve Group, said: “The Learning Curve Group, deliver various courses for unemployed individuals aged 19 and above. Our aim is to transform lives and we’re looking forward to working with the Forum Music Centre, as a new venue for learning, in Darlington.”
