London architects snapped up by Newcastle's Ryder
Newcastle-based Ryder Architecture has acquired London-based architectural design firm PM Devereux.
Ryder, which boasts offices in Newcastle, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Vancouver and Hong Kong, will now employ 180 people under its banner with a turnover of approximately £15m.
Devereux Architects was acquired by PM Group, the international project delivery specialists, in 2007 and have been collaborating with Ryder over the past 12 months.
Devereux has a strong track record in the healthcare and higher education sectors, primarily in the south which Ryder says complements its portfolio in these sectors. In turn, Devereux’s people will relocate to Ryder’s office in Fitzrovia.
Nic Allen, director at Devereux, said: “We have been working with Ryder for a while and have a number of mutual clients nationally so integrating the practices was a natural evolution of the relationship.
“We are extremely excited about this venture which brings benefits to both practices and will lead to great opportunities for our people and our clients.”
Mark Thompson, managing partner at Ryder, added: “We are delighted to welcome the Devereux team to Ryder which will strengthen our capability in key sectors and bring greater capacity to our London team which is enjoying a period of growth.”
