Firms merge to create new player in North East’s property market

North East property consultancy YoungsRPS has agreed a deal to merge with commercial surveyors and estate agents, Stanton Mortimer.

The deal will see Stanton Mortimer’s branches, based in Newcastle city centre and Northallerton, come under the YoungsRPS banner, which targets the commercial property, rural and residential agency markets.

The new locations will add to the firm’s existing network of offices in Hexham, Alnwick and Sedgefield and headcount will stand at 35 across five branches in total, covering the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and Scotland.

The move follows a successful year for independent firm YoungsRPS, which has seen turnover of £1.8m in the last 12 months and a new contact wins with regional homebuilders such as Anvil and Duchy Homes.

Following the deal, the business has plans in place to increase turnover to an expected £2.8m by May 2018.

Stanton Mortimer clients include a faith based charitable trust with commercial and agricultural interests throughout the UK.

Its directors, Neil Mortimer and Michael Blake, will now join the board at YoungsRPS which includes Robbie Hutchinson and Graeme Bruce, Joint Managing Directors of YoungsRPS.
