Key Senior Appointment For Disability Action Yorkshire

A Harrogate charity celebrating its 80th anniversary has made a key appointment.

Neil Gallagher has taken on the role of finance manager at Disability Action Yorkshire, and he will be based at the organisation’s Hornbeam Park headquarters and training centre.

Chief Executive Jackie Snape said: “The role of finance manager is a key function of any organisation and we are delighted that someone of Neil’s calibre is taking on this important responsibility.

“Neil is highly experienced with a successful career built initially in corporate environments and then in SME organisations.

“He will be working closely with the senior team, not only to ensure we keep within our budgets, but also to ensure financial stability as we work on future developments.”

Speaking of his appointment, Neil said: “I am very much looking forward to playing my part within Disability Action Yorkshire.

“This is a superb organisation and, for the last eight decades, has played a leading role in the welfare and rights of disabled people.

“Whilst this is the first time I have worked for a charity, I’m looking forward to the challenges this job will no doubt present me.

“That said, it benefits significantly from incredibly capable leaders, who have their sights set well and truly on the future direction of the organisation.”

Neil began his 26-year financial career at Ernst & Young Hull and Leeds offices, where he worked as an auditor.

He has also worked at NTL Telecommunications, Jarvis Porter Group and Bikinet PLC in the roles of financial accountant, finance manager and finance director. His last position was that of a finance director at Nexus Telecom Group Limited.
