Views sought on Liverpool’s 125-acre Ten Streets dockland transformation
A public consultation on the proposed transformation of 125 acres of former docklands in Liverpool is about to begin.
Running for six weeks, the event will invite feedback on the draft masterplan to establish a creativity district in the Ten Streets area of North Liverpool and generate as many as 2,500 jobs.
With the city council’s cabinet having greenlit the draft Spatial Regeneration Framework (SRF), the public consultation will start at 10am on Tuesday (October 10) at the Titanic Hotel, Stanley Dock.
Businesses and members of the public will be asked for feedback on the 10 ideas, five themes and design principles guiding the development of the site over the next 15 to 20 years.
The consultation will also include a series of public roadshow events in the city and feedback forms on the Ten Streets website.
Once all views are gathered, a final SRF is due to return to the council’s cabinet in December. If approved, it will be formally adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) that will assist in the determination of all future planning applications and any use of the authority’s Compulsory Purchase Orders.
Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson said: “Ten Streets has phenomenal potential to transform North Liverpool and the city’s future economy.
“This new framework document will no doubt be of huge interest to everyone who wants to see the transformation of this part of north Liverpool and the public consultation will be critical to shaping its direction.”
The deadline for responses in the consultation is November 21.
