Revealed: Newcastle’s Lane7 strikes £7.5m national rollout
Popular boutique bowling venue Lane7 has revealed it will be opening new sites in Aberdeen and Middlesbrough before the year’s close, with further launches in Durham and Birmingham to follow in 2018.
The expansion marks a £7.5m investment for the group, which will create another 60 full and part time jobs at the Aberdeen and Middlesbrough venues alone.
The upmarket bowling alley and drinks venue, which opened its Newcastle site in late 2013, is also in advanced talks on further openings across more of the UK’s major cities.
Charlie Snow, Lane7 operations manager, spoke of her excitement when revealing the news.
He commented: “We can’t wait for Aberdeen and Middlesbrough to get their bowl on!
“These are locations with a buzzing nightlife and we’re thrilled to be adding a fresh, new dimension to each. Each site will have their own special twists.
The site in Aberdeen, which is due to open in mid-November in the thriving new Merchant Quarter, will consist of six lanes and a host of other Lane7 features.
In Middlesbrough, Lane7 will open in December on the ground floor of the iconic Centre North East, the town’s tallest building, and will house five bowling lanes.
Charlie continued: “New sites have been a long time in the planning, but we have always maintained we would remain patient in our quest to unearth the best venues.
“These sites are exactly that. We launched Lane7 as the antidote to plastic, soulless retail park bowling venues, so we’ve been quite happy to sit tight until now.”
