New network manager at Stagecoach MCSL
Stagecoach Merseyside, Cheshire and South Lancashire (MCSL) has strengthened its team with the appointment of a network manager.
David Rich, 23, joins the team having completed a two year graduate trainee scheme with the bus operator. His new role is based at Stagecoach’s Gillmoss depot in Liverpool where he is responsible for the commercial viability of its bus network. He is the first person to hold this position in the region.
Manchester-born David started working for Stagecoach in 2015 after he graduated from the University of Durham. During the graduate scheme, David spent a year as a trainee in Winchester and a further year as an assistant operations manager at the Stagecoach depot in Rotherham.
His role is to proactively identify opportunities to drive growth and enhance the reliability of the Stagecoach network across Merseyside, Cheshire and South Lancashire. He will ensure that the network continues to provide relevant and fit-for-purpose services for its passengers while remaining sustainable for the long-term.
The newly created post reports in to Stagecoach MCSL’s commercial director, David Shurden.
Rob Jones, managing director at Stagecoach MCSL, said: “It is fantastic when our graduate trainees go on to secure great new opportunities within the business.
“David has proven himself to be a very competent and professional individual throughout his first two years with Stagecoach and I am delighted to welcome him to Merseyside as a permanent member of staff.
“He will play an active role in driving future growth and ensuring our network remains sustainable as we continue to provide reliable and affordable bus services to our passengers across the region.”
