University wins spark widespread growth for North East recruitment firm
After landing a series of new business wins with universities across the UK, Newcastle consultancy Smart Resourcing Solutions has increased business by over 40%.
The graduate recruitment consultancy and outsourcing provider, which works with employers, students and universities, has also created a new permanent role following the upturn.
Sophie Milliken, MD, attributes much of the firm’s success to its bespoke employability workshops, which provide mock simulations for over 1000 graduates at a time.
Delivered by a team of assessors and real employers, the workshops create an environment for the students to experience interviews and recruitment techniques, as close to the real thing as possible says Sophie.
The business works with graduates from unis across the UK including Manchester Metropolitan, Leeds Beckett, Nottingham Business School, Kingston University, York, Coventry, Sunderland, Hertfordshire, Lincoln, Canterbury, Westminster and the London Institute of Banking and Finance.
Sophie said: “As well as retaining all the contracts we had with Universities last year, we have also won a significant amount of new business, positioning us as one of the leading mock assessment simulation providers in the country.
“This has increased our turnover by a massive 40% and allowed us to add Louise Grimes to the team as our University Partnerships Manager.”
Louise has worked on a consultancy basis with Smart Resourcing Solutions since 2014 and is now delighted to join the team in a permanent position.
She will be focusing on delivering a fantastic service for universities and increasing graduates chances of being employed in their chosen fields.
Louise said: “My role will allow us as a company to focus on growing our university offer, providing outstanding customer care. It will free up Sophie to concentrate on other parts of the business too, including employers and students who need direct support.”
