Cardiff coding courses back by popular demand

Following the success of its inaugural coding courses in 2016, Codez Academy has launched a calendar of adult evening courses starting this November to help close the digital skills gap in Wales.

The Cardiff-based coding school’s adult evening courses will be held at one of the City’s latest co-working spaces for the creative community, Rabble Studios.

Starting on November 9, Codez Academy is building on its mission to help improve and increase digital skills in Wales overall and reduce the barriers to tech-led jobs by offering courses that are accessible and affordable.

Currently one in ten adults have never used the internet and many are still missing out on excellent job opportunities due to a lack of digital skills. Yet, government statistics reveal that in 20 years, 90% of all jobs will require some digital skills. Therefore, Codez Academy believes that it is pivotal that individuals prepare for this future scenario right now and is addressing this issue with its coding courses.

Codez Academy managing director, Dean Jenkins, said: “Digital jobs are still on the rise in Wales and it is a sector which offers a wide range of opportunities for those who want to expand their prospects. Coding is a valuable qualification for anyone at any stage of their career.

“It’s evident that digital expertise as a whole is now becoming an essential skill for employers, which is why this course will provide a guide to front end development for participants across a twelve week learning structure. Not only will it build knowledge but we aim to also build digital confidence for those who are perhaps lacking.”

The Codez Academy adult evening courses will run across twelve-week blocks with six weeks spent learning and six weeks spent displaying these practical skills. Participants will come away with valuable knowledge and experience that will help them excel in the digital sector. Overall, the course will provide a step-by-step guide to help prepare participants for the career that they desire.
