Jet Aire completes contract for BASF plc
Leeds-based drainage company, Jet Aire Services, has completed the first part of a contract to identify and carry out drainage improvements at chemical production facilities in Bradford and Grimsby on behalf of the world’s largest chemical manufacturer, BASF plc.
In 2016, a programme of work started to CCTV survey the drains network across the site providing valuable mapping services and identifying areas of improvement for future planning/developments. Earlier this year Jet Aire undertook a programme of patch and lining remedial works before moving to the smaller site in Grimsby to conduct another CCTV condition and connectivity Survey.
BASF plc’s 56-acre Bradford site is one of the largest and most productive single-site chemical plants in the UK with an annual output of over 250,000 tonnes of which 84% is exported. It primarily manufactures products used to enhance industrial processing in various industries such as papermaking, mining, oil extraction, wastewater treatment and textile processing. The site in Grimsby manufactures products used to enhance processing in the oilfield and mining industries.
Jet Aire managing director, Charlie Kirk, said:
“Jet Aire’s investment in training and surveying technology has positioned us to offer specialist expertise in the maintenance of sites which are subject to Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations. This has enabled us to establish a strong presence in the chemical industry and we now serve a number of the sector’s major names. Like all chemical production facilities, the BASF plc sites presented challenging conditions but our engineers are highly skilled and experienced in working within potentially hazardous environments. They are trained to complete work with minimum disruption to site operations.”
For over thirty years Jet Aire Services has been servicing the UK with a range of professional drainage solutions. Operating from offices near Leeds and Middlesbrough, the company is accredited and approved by many of the environmental and drainage service industry’s leading bodies and holds both ISO9001 and ISO14001, internationally recognised standards for quality management.
