Co-living brand Society launches crowdfunding campaign to enhance lives

Society, a residential management company that provides co-living for all generations and every income, has announced an equity funding round today (October 24) on Seedrs.

Society is looking to raise £500k in order to continue development of its proprietary digital platform and grow its management contracts with prospective developers nationwide.

In line with large European areas, ‘Generation Rent’ is set to increase from 20 per cent of the population to 40 per cent in the next 10 years. As a result, Society aims to overhaul both the reality and reputation of the current rental experience by harnessing the power of technology, design, community and the sharing economy to improve people’s lives.

Founder and CEO, Gerard Greene, said: “With the rental population booming at an unprecedented pace, the residential market is ripe for disruption and there is huge potential for technological innovation to drive efficiency, improve community and provide better customer service.

“Using our digital platform, we are confident that we can offer an attractive alternative to renters in the build-to-rent market, and provide a unique hotel standard of service to customers in their everyday lives.”

The number of UK renters is set to dramatically increase over the coming years with it now taking an average of 18 years to save for a deposit to buy a home.

Society has developed a digital platform that connects its members and helps to build instant communities. The app offers members enhanced search and move in capabilities, membership to the Society community and access to additional services.

Society will enable prospective tenants to manage all of their admin online – removing most of the cost and hassle from accessing the rental market. The aim is to make renting a home as easy as booking a hotel room.

A member’s marketplace will encourage members to offer services to each other and to share whether that be picnic gear, bikes, dog walking services or a homework club.

Using the combined 40+ years of hospitality experience of the management team, Society is a full-service co-living management company offering the lifestyle services and standards of a hotel, managing all aspects of the operation from the concierge, finance and cleaning in order to meet the needs of all generations.
