Cobweb Celebrates 20 Years of Flagship Product
Cobweb Information celebrated the 20th anniversary of its flagship product, COBRA (Complete Business Reference Adviser), at an event at London’s Royal Society this month. C OBRA is an essential resource for many business support organisations, universities, growth hubs, blue-chip companies and lenders across the UK.
The Gateshead based Cobweb was joined by its clients and partners to look back over the last 20 years of business support and to explore how technology and innovation will shape the future.
“To be able to celebrate 20 years of COBRA with people who have helped us develop and improve COBRA since it was first launched was a real privilege,” says Marianne Whitfield, Managing Director at Cobweb.
“The event was also a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the exceptional work of the wider business support community.”
“We launched COBRA in 1997 as a premium subscription-only resource, providing high-quality information for business support practitioners, funding providers and advisers,” explains Marianne.
“I think it is a real testament to COBRA that at a time when so much business information is available freely online, our customer base continues to grow,” adds Marianne. “Our clients recognise the value of the well-researched, validated and practical information that is exclusively available on COBRA.”
Lisa Rix, Head of Partnerships and Propositions at NatWest, was at the event, and said: “Cobweb is a trusted and valued partner of NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland and we’re looking forward to the new tools they’re developing to help us serve our customers with even better insight.”
“We are always working to make sure that COBRA continues to be relevant and meet the needs of business owners and the business support community.” adds Marianne.
“The input and ideas we received from everyone who attended the event will help us shape COBRA’s development over the next 20 years”.
