New investor for Merry Maids of Stratford
Merry Maids of Stratford Upon Avon is under new ownership after a local entrepreneur invested in the established company and is now recruiting for more staff to handle an expected increase in demand.
Amandip Bahia (30), from Stratford had been part of the family business since leaving school and wanted the opportunity to launch his own venture. His dream of employing local people to serve the local community has been realised with purchase of the established Merry Maids business.
The company currently employs 12 staff and serves over 150 customers across Stratford but Amandip is planning for exponential growth and as such, will be taking on a number of new employees.
Amandip said of the investment: “I’d always wanted to be my own boss and when I discovered the Merry Maids opportunity, I knew it was the right decision for me. There is demand for quality cleaning services and I’m excited to be taking on new staff and new customers in the coming weeks.
“The exiting owner has done a fantastic job but I have the drive and determination to take the business on leaps and bounds and create a cleaning empire across Stratford.”
Merry Maids brand operations manager, Catriona Berry added: “Amandip has shown fantastic enthusiasm and we are really excited to witness the business develop under his leadership.”
Merry Maids is a franchise of ServiceMaster Ltd, which has been operating in the UK for over 55 years. With nearly 70 local Merry Maids businesses in the UK, it is one of the leading domestic cleaning brands in the industry.
