Salford builders appointed to multi-million pound airport framework

MC Construction has landed a place on Manchester Airport’s building services framework.

Initially spanning three years, the deal covers airside and landside building works for up to £3m, in addition to fitouts to retail, office and commercial sites.

Salford-based MC Construction, which operates across the North West, is already appointed to a number of frameworks, including partnerships with Royal Mail, the University of Manchester, Salford City Council and Cheshire East Council.

Michelle Richardson, operations director of the family-owned business, will lead the team responsible for the airport framework.

She said of the appointment: “We are proud and delighted to be appointed to the Manchester Airport framework.

“The airport is the global gateway to the north of England, serving 27 million passengers a year flying to 210 destinations, and is an exciting new client for the company.”

Michelle continued: “The work we will be carrying out at the airport will benefit the entire region by helping to create improved facilities for passengers, staff and companies based there. We are also committed to using local labour and suppliers for our projects.”

Speaking further, Michelle said the deal will be a “significant boost” to MC Construction’s goal of achieving a £20m turnover by 2018.
