Pennine to build a bright future with expansion

A leading North East retailer, Pennine Home Improvements, is expanding its team of skilled builders and tradesmen to manage the demand from the Company’s growing success.

In the last 6 months, the Newcastle-based company, which specialises in the design and installation of high quality conservatories, orangeries, replacement conservatory roofs, windows and doors, has taken on 10 employed tradesmen and 6 self-employed tradesmen, all local to the North East. It is also actively seeking further additions to its team as part of an ongoing growth strategy.

According to the Construction Products Spring forecast, construction output is set to rise by 1.3%, followed by 1.2% growth in 2018, which is an improved prediction from that made in February this year. Pennine hopes to use this increasing industry demand to expand as a Company and find skilled tradesmen who have the ambition to move forward in a challenging and rewarding career.

Building Manager, David McLaren said: “Builders and fitters choose Pennine because we’re a reputable company, with an undisputable reputation for providing quality service across the North East. We offer excellent training and development, remuneration and recognise exceptional work through incentive programmes and an annual awards ceremony.

“We’re seeking accomplished individuals that are the right fit for Pennine, with experience in a spectrum of building areas but also the ability to provide great customer service, as we pride ourselves in going the extra mile for our clients.

We’re pleased to be in the position to offer a stronger proposition than most other companies within the North East, with continuous work and job stability.“

In line with its continued growth, Pennine, currently celebrating its 40th year in business, has made several significant senior appointments, including Head of Construction; Mark Weston.

“In the current economic climate, I feel lucky to be part of a secure Company with such potential for expansion in the upcoming year,” said Mark.

“Our team members range from our longest standing self-employed builder, who joined Pennine back in 1999, to our four newest employed labourers and self-employed builders, who came to us in September.

“It’s amazing to think that the Company started with just two members of staff and after the appointments of our new tradesmen in the last six months, we now have a total of 65 employees and an additional 60 contractors. The future of Pennine is looking very promising.”
