Galliford Try to deliver £100m residential scheme in Partington under new JV
Housing and regeneration company Galliford Try Partnerships has entered into a joint venture with Trafford Housing Trust Developments for a £100m residential scheme in Greater Manchester.
The JV, Heath Lane Farm LLP, was created to deliver 576 new homes at Heath Farm Lane in Partington.
The properties will comprise a mix of one- to five-bedroom homes, including apartments and houses.
Of the total, 500 will be available for open market sale, promoted both under Galliford Try’s Linden Homes brand and Trafford Housing Trust’s Laurus Homes. Further, 74 of the houses will be made available as affordable homes.
Work has begun on the consultation process for the development, after which a planning application will be submitted to Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council.
It is hoped that construction will begin on site later in 2018.
The chief executive of Galliford Try Partnerships, Stephen Teagle, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Trust’s Laurus Homes housebuilding division and deliver a high-quality development that provides great homes, a great environment and contributes to the wider regeneration of Partington.
“It will provide homes and jobs for local people and add to our growing programme of delivering new homes in the North West.”
Galliford Try’s North West regional managing director, Brendan Blythe, commented: “Trafford Housing Trust has a well-established reputation within the Trafford and Greater Manchester area, therefore we are delighted to enter into this joint venture to establish Heath Farm Lane LLP and bring forward this important regeneration scheme.
“In recent years, the Partington area has undergone extensive investment and we look forward to using our expertise in delivering high quality, sustainable housing to rejuvenate the area and create a thriving, high quality community.”
Larry Gold, deputy chief exec of Trafford Housing Trust, said of the agreement: “Being based in Trafford, we are very familiar with both the challenges and huge opportunities that the Partington district has to offer.
“This scheme is just one of several transformational programmes in the pipeline for the area, and we look forward to working with Galliford Try Partnerships to drive this first phase of development.”
