The Broadway announced as finalist in local business awards

The Broadway Shopping Centre in Bradford is pleased to announce that it has been named as a finalist at the 2017 Raising The Bar Awards.

The centre, which recently celebrated the second anniversary of its opening on November 4th, is a finalist in the Economy category of the Raising The Bar Awards, which take place on November 29th.

Now in its fifth year, the awards celebrate all that businesses and employees do to improve their social impact and make their local areas exceptional places to work and live in. The awards see one business taking first place, in the categories of Community (under 150 employees, Community (over 150 employees), Economy, Education, Environment and this year, shortlisted businesses will be able to put forward additional information for the inaugural Individual Award.

Ian Ward, general manager of The Broadway, is proud of the achievement, saying: “We’ve worked hard to make a positive impact on Bradford since opening our doors two years ago, to be recognised for this work by Raising The Bar is a real badge of honour for everyone here.

“We’ve got a lot of great events planned for the festive season, and we’re looking forward to continuing our successes in and around Bradford in 2018.”

Sandy Needham, Chief Executive of the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We’re delighted that there are so many companies of different sizes and sectors making a difference by working with the wider community. These awards highlight businesses who are acting responsibly and encouraging colleagues to get involved in whatever way is right for them, from helping with employment, linking with education or raising funds.”

The Raising the Bar awards take place on Wednesday, November 29th at Civic Hall in Leeds.

The awards are sponsored by the Provident Financial Group, Leeds City Council and LeedsBID.
