A new app for theatre lovers raises 70% of £200k target in 24 hours
Stagedoor, an app to help audiences discover new theatre has begun its £200k fundraising campaign, which is open to the general public via Seedrs.
So far, Stagedoor has raised £142k of its target from the help of pre-registered investments from its own users, theatre professionals and tech investors in both London and New York.
The company’s co-founder and CEO, Michael Hadjijoseph, said: “i am delighted to offer theatre lovers the opportunity to share our journey.
“We founded Stagedoor to make theatre accessible to everyone and we want to extend that principle to the ownership of our company as well.”
New investors have the opportunity to purchase a stake in the business, valued at £2.5m, for £10 before the round closes on January 14, 2018.
The money raised from this round is to be used to help the company acquire 100,000 users in London and expand internationally.
Stagedoor has been designed to help users discover and book shows in London via personalised recommendations.
Francis Hellyer, CEO of London Theatre Direct, added: “Theatre is a social experience and Stagedoor is a tech platform that reflects that.
“It already has a thriving community of thousands of users and I’m sure it will be the catalyst for millions of nights out at the theatre.”
