Professional services giant moves 920 employees to Manchester’s No1 Spinningfields

Professional services giant PwC is moving into Manchester’s No1 Spinningfields.

The firm is today (November 20) saying farewell to its home of 20 years, Barbirolli Square, as it relocates 920 employees to the final commercial property to be constructed in Spinningfields.

Designed by Manchester-based Ian Simpson Architects, No1 Spinningfields comprises 260,000 sq ft across 19 floors.

PwC will initially take up 67,000 sq ft over three floors, with a further 25,000 sq ft floor secured to accommodate future growth.

PwC’s North West regional chairman, Iwan Griffiths, said of the move: “Our new office in Manchester reflects our continued investment in the North West and is the most advanced PwC office in the country.

“Our people have led the development of the office and we’ve worked very closely with the developers to design an office that breaks new ground in many ways. The office focuses on allowing our people and clients to work flexibly, utilising technology to ensure we can work together effectively.”

He continued: “Co-working space for our clients reflects the demands of our clients to work together closely with their strategic advisors.

“This will be a truly transformational move for PwC in Manchester and our people can’t wait to experience the new space.”
