Last two days to make a splash at Ashton Old Baths
Organisers of a business competition to find Tameside’s tech businesses of the future called for final entries today as the clock ticks down to deadline day.
Aspiring entrepreneurs who want to build and grow a fantastic local digital or creative business have got until Friday 24th November to get their entries in and become one of the first Digital Dozen at Ashton Old Baths.
Ashton Old Baths Centre Manager Claire Kellett said they already had some great entries but were looking for more. “We know that there is a growing digital and innovation community here in Tameside – get in touch with us and help us help you turn that idea into reality.”
Hosting an event just last week around the impact of block chain technology and the launch of a new academy, Ashton Old Baths is establishing itself as a dynamic hub for young digital businesses.
Jonathan Reynolds MP for Stalybridge and Hyde, who attended the launch, agreed: He said “Digital Dozen and the Blocktech Academy are exciting opportunities for Tameside to grasp the digital future.”
To be one of the Digital Dozen you have to want to base the business in Tameside, be ambitious for yourself and the firm and have a strong product or service in the digital, creative or media sector with a defined customer.
Go to the Centre’s website www.ashtonoldbaths.co.uk/digital-dozen to download an application form and within 30 minutes you could be in the fast lane for business growth.
Digital Dozen winners will get a dedicated desk within co-working space on the ground floor of AOB – enabling lots of interaction from like-minded neighbours – and a whole range of high quality tailored support.
This includes one on one mentoring and access to an Innovation Director one day a fortnight, providing diagnostics around business and entrepreneurship capabilities and needs.
Also covered are a range of workshops on specific growth topics – finance, business planning, marketing and HR – as well as social events to help build a community of supportive peers, suppliers and advocates and maybe even customers.
The Digital Dozen programme is being promoted online and via social media, PR and partner events across Tameside.
The window for nominations closes Friday 24th November.
