Autumn Budget 2017: Your reactions

Yesterday (November 22), Philip Hammond, Chancellor of the Exchequer, proposed how the Government is to spend the 2017 Budget.

Some very important and promising plans were told by Hammond, so let’s hope that he - along with the Conservatives - lives up to such expectations.

Some of the highlights in this year’s Budget included the abolition of stamp duty for first time buyers purchasing properties under £300k, or £500k if they’re living in London or other, more expensive, UK cities.

Another was the £3bn being pumped into delivering a ‘deal only’ Brexit. A further three million apprenticeships - often seen as the crucial alternative to university - will also be made available for young people taking a step onto the career ladder.

The Chancellor also hinted towards fuelling the Northern Powerhouse further, with a £1.7bn Transforming Cities fund that aims to improve transport in the North of England.
