Professional Liverpool sees membership skyrocket 224%

Professional Liverpool, the organisation set up to promote professional excellence in the Liverpool City Region, has seen its member number skyrocket 224% over the last year.

Since its last AGM in 2016, the group grew its membership from 125 to 405, exceeding projections.

At a meeting last week (November 23), which saw professionals gather in the council chambers at Liverpool’s Town Hall for an update on the progress made in 2016/17, chief exec John Hall told attendees that the upward trend is set to continue into the new year and beyond.

Mr Hall led the review with Professional Liverpool chairman Jim Gill and company secretary Andrew Lovelady, reporting that the organisation is now taking steps to shore up its position for the future.

The strategy, they said, recognises the importance of digital communication with a new website and team additions.

Among the appointments for the year were marketing and events assistant Emma Rittenberg, who will manage Professional Liverpool’s social channels.

Professional Liverpool also hosted 83 events in 2017, up 33 from last year.

John Hall said: “Our Liverpool City Region focus has become even more streamlined this year, with the creation of the financial and professional services board through the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership.

“It’s crucial that we continue to work collaboratively, so that we can continue to grow and make a difference for more businesses and employees in the region.”

He added: “I and everyone at Professional Liverpool would like to thank our members for another successful year, and we look forward to seeing you all at more events in 2018.”
