Internship Scheme Fuels Jobs at Futures Agency

ONE of the leading home and lifestyle trend forecasting agencies in the country has invested in the future of one of its interns and appointed a new trend researcher to its ever-growing team.

Former intern Rebecca Charlton, of, Alnwick, Northumberland, has taken up her new role at Newcastle-based Trend Bible, which predicts future trends for major brands and manufacturers in the UK, USA and the Nordics.

Rebecca, who studied fashion and textiles buying management at Huddersfield University, said: “One of the things I loved about Trend Bible when I was interning was how they really involved you in projects and how you could get a real understanding of the company. I felt I had responsibility and the respect of others.

“There was no where else I wanted to work when it came to finding a job. I’ve such an interest in understanding the consumer mindset and it’s a great company to work for.”

The agency sells its trend reports to major retailers and brands such as Marks & Spencer, Moonpig, Ronseal and Lego, giving them future insight to inform their strategic, product and marketing decisions.

Joanna Feeley, founder and CEO of Trend Bible, said: “We had Rebecca with us as an intern and she really impressed us, so we’re delighted to welcome her to the team.

“We’ve had an increase in demand from brands who want to look further ahead to understand how their customers will be feeling, thinking and shopping in the future. Rebecca will support our insights team to ensure we paint a really clear picture of what life at home will look like.”

The agency has seen a rise in demand for its insight on macro lifestyle trend drivers and has been helping brands understand what’s influencing consumers, such as Silent Night, which is working with Trend Bible to establish the future of sleep.

Rebecca is one of many employees joining Trend Bible from their internship scheme, which has a special focus on recruiting talent from local universities.
