Entrepreneurial Middlesbrough lad launches custom gifts business
Twenty year old aspiring entrepreneur Sam Green, from Marton in Middlesbrough, has launched Caught Red Handed, a new business dedicated to the production of custom framed gifts.
A former Redcar & Cleveland College student, Sam says he started the company after taking inspiration from a ‘sorry you’re leaving’ gift received by his mother.
Believing he could create higher quality gifts at more affordable prices, Sam decided to take an entrepreneurial leap and start something of his own.
Sam explained: “I’ve been interested in running my own business since I was very young. Building something from scratch and watching it grow is always something that has appealed to me, and in this case I saw an opportunity to improve upon an existing product.
“I knew that the market was there and so far things are going really well. I’m determined to make it a success and would really like to thank Redcar & Cleveland College for providing me with the skills needed to succeed.
“My business course provided me with a better idea of what it would take to succeed – especially when it comes to finance and marketing – and the staff made me believe that running my own business was actually possible.”
In addition to bespoke gifts for individuals, Caught Red Handed also offers corporate gifts for business and charities.
Mandy Morris, Vice Principal for Curriculum at Redcar & Cleveland College, said: “We’re thrilled to see that Sam has gone on to launch his own business.
“He was an extremely passionate student who was always destined for success. I wish him the best of luck and look forward to seeing Caught Red Handed continue to grow.”
