Godfrey Syrett lands place on CCS framework

Newcastle furniture manufacturer Godfrey Syrett has secured a place on the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) residential furniture framework for all wider Public Sector and Central Government customers.

The business sees the news as a significant win, giving it the potential to land an influx of new contracts - with organisations such as the Ministry of Defence (MOD) - via the placing.

An executive agency of the Cabinet Office, CCS supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services.

The framework, which has an estimated value of £19m, will run for two years initially, with the possibility to extend for a further two years. During this time, Godfrey Syrett will design, manufacture and install a range of living and dining furniture for the Ministry of Defence’s UK-wide accommodation portfolio.

The firm, which has a working partnership with the Ministry of Defence spanning over 20 years, has recently completed a £1.8m contract in Lyneham, Wiltshire. The project involved the transformation of RAF Lyneham into a Defence College of Technical Training, providing a state of the art training facility capable of hosting 2000 students.

Paul Hutchinson, business development manager at Godfrey Syrett said: “We are pleased to have secured a place on this significant framework, which will enable us to share our design, manufacturing and space planning expertise with the next generation of defence accommodation projects.

“Projects of this nature require innovative solutions that are attractive, functional and durable.

“We are constantly evolving our product range to ensure it is tailored to the end user, but are also investing in the latest digital technology to optimise our manufacturing processes.

“This framework will allow us to build on a number of successful projects we have already completed with the MOD.”
