David Wilson Homes recognises outstanding former Assistant Site Manager with a memorial bench around his favourite oak tree
David Wilson Homes recently held an event at its Oaklands development in Pontefract in memory of its former Assistant Site Manager, Jonathan Hoyle, who sadly passed away at the age of 38. His family and friends attended a special memorial event at the development last week to be the first to see a bench dedicated to Jonathan around his favourite oak tree.
His family, including his mother Marie Hoyle, father Brian Hoyle and sister Jessica Hoyle, visited the Oaklands site accompanied by Darren Johnson, Construction Director at David Wilson Homes. The group witnessed the special bench being unveiled in Jonathan’s memory in a spot he used to enjoy photographing, along with Jonathan’s friends and colleagues who had joined them to pay their respects.
Darren Johnson commented: “Jonathan was an excellent Assistant Site Manager and it only feels right to have something special dedicated to him on site. When we were deciding where would be the most fitting location to remember and mark a wonderful man, one location instantly sprang to mind - the beautiful oak tree that Jonathan loved to visit and photograph. We are proud to have created a space for his family and friends, both from home and work, to come and remember him by in a spot they knew brought him so much joy.”
Marie Hoyle commented: “We want to thank Jonathan’s friends and colleagues who were able to celebrate the life of our son last week. It means so much that we have a beautiful, dedicated space to visit, which we are so proud and impressed by – it is incredibly special to us.”
