On the Beach Group plc grows profits to £21.1m as revenues climb 13.6%
Holiday company On the Beach Group plc has grown its profits, revenues and website visitor numbers over the last year.
The Stockport-based company saw its profit before tax for the 12 months to September 30 2017 hit £21.1m, a year-on-year increase of 24.9%.
Total revenues rose 17.2% to £83.6m, with UK sales accounting for £81.9m of that figure and international £1.7m.
On the Beach Group’s digital footprint is also expanding, with daily unique visitors over the course of the year growing 13.6% to 66m.
On the Beach Group chief exec Simon Cooper said: “These results are further testament to the continued strength and flexibility of our agile business model.
“Revenue growth in the International business supports our plans to launch in our third international market, Denmark, early in 2018.”
He added: “On the Beach continues to use its modular technology platform to innovate and deliver value and flexibility to an increasing audience of beach holidaymakers.”
In May this year, the company announced its acquisition of UK-based online travel agent Sunshine.co.uk Limited in a £12m deal.
Discussing the transaction, Mr Cooper said the firm is now “fully integrated” onto the On the Beach platform.
He continued: I am pleased with the performance that has been achieved by the team both through the integration process and beyond. The board will continue to evaluate acquisition opportunities that will both increase our scale and deliver value for shareholders.
“The board is pleased to report that current trading is in line with expectations and believes the business is well positioned for the key trading period that commences in late December and continues into Q1 2018.”
