CakeDrop has kickstarted a new £10k crowdfunding campaign
CakeDrop, a London-based startup that hand-delivers baked goods to offices, has launched its first crowdfunding campaign today (December 5).
The company is aiming to raise £10k to expand its operations and fuel a new phase of growth.
CakeDrop launched in July 2017, aiming to bridge the gap between London offices and independent bakeries, in London, by sourcing cakes from its bakery partners and delivering them direct to desks.
Anna Ward, founder of CakeDrop, said: “It’s been an incredible six months since we launched this summer and we’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response we’ve received. So far, we’ve delivered cakes to over 90 offices around London, but we’ve still got further to go.
“There are thousands of offices in need of better cake and moving into 2018 we want to be able to service them. The funds we raise will help us reach more cake lovers across the city and, in turn, support more incredible independent bakeries with our offering.”
CakeDrop’s current partners include Victoria Yum, South East Cakery, Luminary Bakery and Sweet Tooth Factory.
The business is hoping to raise funds to grow its operations and service more offices across London. This will involve ramping up marketing activity and purchasing an additional custom-built delivery trike.
The All-Or-Nothing crowdfunding campaign will run on Kickstarter for 30 days, from today (December 5) until January 3, 2018.
The rewards for those backing the campaign range from individual cake pots for smaller pledges, to a year’s worth of cake and even CakeDrop pop-ups for the office. If the £10k target is not reached, the company walks away empty-handed.
