Liverpool recruitment startup triples turnover to £230k
A recruitment company in Liverpool is celebrating after tripling revenues and doubling its workforce over the last 12 months.
Dobson Welch, which secured a new office in the Baltic Triangle to accommodate its expansion plans earlier this year, has seen its turnover grow by around 200% to £230k.
In addition to director Claire Welch, who founded Dobson Welch in 2015, the company’s team now includes four recruitment consultants – Dominic Barclay, who works in London, and Liverpool-based Laura Gibson, John Seaforth and Angela White – along with an accounts administrator.
Commenting on the growth, Claire said: “We’ve had a very busy year which is a result of securing new clients and our existing clients. One area we specialise in is high volume recruitment and a couple of our retail and financial services clients have expanded quite significantly resulting in them recruiting a lot of new staff.
“Each consultant has their own particular area of expertise, Dominic specialises in fashion, Laura sales, John in legal recruitment and Ange comes from a marketing and PR background so they are quite diverse which has really strengthened our offering.”
She continued: “Often we work very closely with the recruitment functions of businesses to basically become an extension of the HR team, particularly with high volume recruitment where it can be too much for an internal team to handle alone.
“We’re hoping to build on the success we’ve had this year and focus on growing the business in 2018.”
Dobson Welch is now based at The Women’s Organisation, 54 St James Street.
The company provides recruitment support for UK businesses in a number of sectors, including retail, legal, sales, fashion, PR, marketing, financial services and IT/telecoms.
