Huddersfield manufacturer secures £200k environmental contract for global telecoms provider
Andel, the Huddersfield-based manufacturer, has secured a national contract to carry out environmental protection work for a global telecommunications company.
Telefonica has contracted Andek to install water leak detection systems in 16 of its technical sites across the UK.
The £200k tender will see the manufacturer install its Floodline leak detection systems in buildings to allow early action to prevent damage, reduce disruption and limit loss.
Mark Harris, Andel commercial director, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract with such a prestigious global telecommunications company. We’re looking forward to working with Telefonica to carry out a total upgrade of their systems.”
Simon Wedd, a TEF UK rep, said: “We appointed Andel because of their expertise and in-depth knowledge of all aspects relating to leak detection and we are very confident of their ability to perform on this project.
“We will be able to keep all 16 sites operational whilst carrying out the work which is critical to ensuring the network continues to function effectively and customers can still use their mobile phones.”
