Local housebuilder leaves green footprint across West Yorkshire

Local five star housebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, has been leaving green footprints across Leeds this year through its environmentally conscious attitude towards homebuilding practices. The division, which has its Bodington Manor development in Leeds, built 692 new homes during 2017.

A conscious effort was made to support the local environment, with 3,110 trees and shrubs planted or retained on developments and 95% of construction waste being recycled.

Ian Ruthven, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, said: “As a five star housebuilder, sustainable building is at the forefront of everything we do. We are very aware of the effect our work can have on the local environment and community, and work extremely hard to continue to develop more environmentally friendly processes. We work hard to create developments with materials and practices that promote environmentally-friendly results that take care of the communities we build in.

“During 2017 alone, 2,900 jobs were supported directly and indirectly through our work, with 610 sub-contractor companies supported and a further 370 supplier companies supported.”
