Silver Award for forces friendly px
A Teesside based business, which operates high hazard energy and process industry facilities across the UK, has been commended for its commitment to creating employment opportunities for ex-military personnel.
Securing a Silver Award, px group has been recognised as an armed forces-friendly organisation and already employs people with a military background, across all of its sites - in operational, specialist and managerial roles.
The business has worked closely with the Ministry of Defence through the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) scheme and has devised a range of policies aimed at supporting the employment of ex-forces people also creating a dedicated web page with case studies and information, for those looking to secure work in this sector.
Jenny Mackness, Human Resources Manager with px, said: “We are delighted to receive this Silver Award – a step up from the Bronze Award received when we first signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant in 2016. It is testament to the commitment, hard work and dedication of our team over the last year, to ensure that our business is offering good opportunities to highly skilled individuals who have served their country and are now looking to new careers in civilian life.”
Among those collecting the award, was Adran Corney, who works as Deputy Shift Team Leader, at the Teesside Gas Processing Plant and previously served in the RAF as a Corporal and avionics technician. He said: “I have been working for px for ten years now and have seen an influx of ex-forces people join as the business has grown. I’m thrilled to be associated with a company that recognises the integrity, skill sets and incredible work ethic that former military personal bring to the table and with initiatives in place to build on this recruitment drive, I’m sure more will secure exciting new careers in the future.”
