Facilities management company acquires Victorian care home site near Preston
A Victorian care home property near Preston has changed hands.
The Manchester-based specialist markets team of real estate services company CBRE sold the 19th-century Jeanne Jugan Residence, located in Fulwood, to facilities management business Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) Healthcare.
Spiral Health CIC, a social enterprise healthcare provider, will operate the site.
HBS acquired the property from religious institute Little Sisters of the Poor.
Built in 1880, the Jeanne Jugan Residence occupies four acres of land and comprises 39 operational bedrooms and 15 staff bedrooms, along with a doctor’s surgery, common areas, tea room, conservatory and chapel.
The centre also has five outbuildings and is surrounded by landscaped gardens.
Shaun Skidmore, CBRE Manchester’s senior director of specialist markets, said: “We are delighted to announce sale of the Jeanne Jugan Residence to the HBS Healthcare.
“Spiral Health CIC are an established and experience operator who will help to ensure the property continues to operate successfully as a care facility.”
She added: “We are delighted that they will build on the excellent reputation of the Residence as well as provide investment in the property to further enhance the care and facilities.”
