Investment firm’s North West HQ ranked among world’s most effective workplaces

The head office of stockbroker AJ Bell is one of the most effective workplaces in the world, according to new data.

Workplace assessor Leesman ranked the company’s HQ building in Salford, 4 Exchange Quay (EQ4), as the highest performing office in the North West.

AJ Bell’s score, awarded following a consultancy project with fit-out business TSK, places it in the top five out of the 2,750 buildings to rated by Leesman globally.

The company’s surveys collect employee data to measure how supportive and effective their working environment is, providing a figure on a scale of 0 to 100. Leesman+, the highest rating, is awarded to workplaces with a score 70 or above. AJ Bell scored 80.6.

TSK led the design and build programme of EQ4. In November last year, AJ Bell revealed plans to move around 100 stockbroking jobs to the development.

Andy Bell, chief executive at AJ Bell, said of the ranking: “We were determined to place the success and wellbeing of our people at the heart of EQ4 and create an office environment that will help to attract the best talent to support our future growth.

“Achieving a Leesman+ is a tremendous endorsement of the work done in partnership with TSK to create an efficient workplace for a motivated and growing workforce.”

AJ Bell moved into EQ4 in May 2017.
