Regency Residential submits plans for ‘dynamic’ canalside scheme in Altrincham
Property firm Regency Residential has submitted plans for a 99-apartment development in Altrincham.
Located along Bridgewater Canal on Wharf Road, the scheme will range from three to seven storeys and deliver a mix of one-, two-, and three-bed apartments along with six two-bed townhouses.
An brick warehouse on the site will be knocked down to to make way for the complex, which will also include 104 car parking spaces, 99 cycle spaces and a 6,000 sq ft internal courtyard.
The scheme was designed by architects Leach Rhodes Walker.
Regency Residential MD Chris Taylor said: “Following major investment in the town centre and its flagship market, Altrincham is more sought after than ever.
“The property market is booming – prospective buyers and renters are attracted to its excellent commutability to Manchester, boosted by the rail and Metrolink networks, fantastic local schools and amenities.”
Leach Rhodes Walker director Christian Gilham commented: “This dynamic residence will be a high quality gateway building for those coming to Altrincham via the canal.
“It is designed to enhance the landscape of the waterway while blending with the style and scale of the existing houses adjacent.”
The project team for the development includes Savills as planner and Enzygo as transport planner and ecological consultant.
Rob Haslam, director at Savills, said of the scheme: “Wharf Road will add an attractive waterside building to the available homes in Altrincham and contribute to the long-term vision of regenerating the Bridgewater Canal, a major part of local industrial and natural heritage.”
Regency Residential is part of MCR Property Group.
