MC Construction boosts North West footprint with latest framework win

Building company MC Construction has secured a place on a new public sector framework that will see it delivering projects across Greater Manchester and the wider North West.

The Salford-based firm was been appointed to STAR Procurement, a shared platform used by Stockport, Trafford and Rochdale Councils.

STAR Procurement also works with other public sector organisations in the region – including local authorities, schools, colleges, NHS, transport bodies and government departments and agencies.

Through the procurement service, organisations can arrange contracts for supplies, services or building projects that cannot be delivered in-house.

MC Construction has now been appointed to design and build projects worth up to £2m – among them refurbishments, extensions and new-build developments.

David Lowe, managing director at MC Construction, said: “We are delighted to be appointed to this latest framework and are very proud to be part of a network that chooses to use locally-based contractors and a local labour force.

“Frameworks such as this are hugely important to our company.”

He added: “They reward best value rather than just price, while the continuity of work provides us with the confidence to continue to invest in our business.”

The appointment is one of several framework wins for MC Construction, which also has a place on frameworks with Manchester Airport, the University of Manchester, Salford City Council and Royal Mail.
