Yorkshire Care Equipment Makes a Splash with Bathroom Adaptations
Yorkshire Care Equipment is expanding to cover bathroom and wetroom adaptations, giving their clients an alternative to moving to a new house should they need an extra bathroom in a more convenient location.
This mobility and care equipment retailer has even gone as far as installing a demonstration bathroom and wetroom right in the front window of its Harrogate showroom. It includes a toilet, basin, bath, and even a level access shower.
David Jordan, Yorkshire Care’s showroom manager said:
“We had quite a few older clients come in and tell us that they were looking to move house because they had an upstairs bathroom and couldn’t access it as easily as they once did. Some of these people have lived in their homes for years and years, so it seems rather sad for them to have to move just because of accessibility.
“By offering bathroom and wetroom adaptations, we’re giving these customers an alternative which lets them stay in their homes, without compromising their quality of life.”
Yorkshire Care now has two plumbers on their installations team who will be working on all aspects of the adaptation process. The company has also signed a distribution agreement with one of the top bathroom equipment manufacturers in the country, and will be using their components to complete bathroom and wetroom fit-outs.
The company offers free no-obligation home assessments for adaptations, meaning that one of their trained assessors will visit the customer’s house and discuss their options with them. They will consider everything from the colour schemes and tiling, through to the type of boiler and water flow.
Yorkshire Care’s bathroom and wetroom specialist, Gordon Hulbert, said:
“A lot of thought goes into each part of the equipment required for every adaptation. When I go into a client’s home, I ask a lot of questions to ensure that they are getting something that is suitable for their present needs, but also something that will withstand the test of time and offer the same benefits a few years down the line.
“Making bathroom and wetroom adaptations part of Yorkshire Care’s services is a natural progression for us. And because we have such an understanding of mobility and access challenges, we can think not just of the finished aesthetic, but also the functionality for the actual individual.”
